Mario Rossi was born in Lanciano in 2001. He pursued his artistic education between the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca, developing a practice that ranges from drawing to textile installation. His work has been presented in various venues, including Fondazione Pastificio Cerere and the Polish Institute in Rome, and is featured in the volume 222 artisti emergenti su cui investire 2026 (Exibart).
At the core of his practice is the transformation of chronological flow into plastic matter: through serial botanical drawing and large-scale crochet structures, he captures and reconfigures everyday life into crafted form. Methodical repetition becomes a tool for conceptual inquiry, where time is not a narrative horizon but a solid unit of measurement. Each stitch and each mark records the duration of an action, incorporating stillness and effort as structural elements. The work becomes present time—an ongoing, vibrating iteration that challenges the frenzy of productivity, seeking instead, through the harmony of repeated gestures, a renewed and necessary spatial clarity.
