On Tuesday 22 September 2026, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, in partnership with NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, hosts Deposito morte Gerry, the first solo exhibition by Gerardo Iudicone, presented by Gianni Politi.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Wednesday 23 September to Saturday 14 November 2026.
Gerardo Iudicone’s artistic practice revolves around obsessive themes that take on the character of guiding images. Through different media and visual languages, the artist investigates the dynamics of attraction, desire and projection, transforming apparently ordinary subjects into investigations of the self.
Deposito morte Gerry is an attempt to inhabit an obsession. Born from an irrational and persistent desire, the exhibition begins with the analysis of an apparently ordinary subject that is nonetheless able to trace an intimate, in-depth portrait of the artist’s psyche. The exhibition features a series of drawings made with oil paint and charcoal, centered on the recurring subject of the melon. Unfailingly yellow and never orange, the melons are the result of a long process of observation and accumulation that precedes the artistic process. The exhibition unfolds as an investigation into the symbolic and autobiographical potential of a fragment of everyday life, capable of generating drives of fear, desire, and rejection.
Gerardo Iudicone’s first solo exhibition perfectly reflects Fondazione Pastificio Cerere’s mission, which has always been committed to supporting and promoting new generations of artists and, through educational programmes, residencies, and research activities, contributes to enriching the contemporary art landscape.
