Micol Gelsi

Micol Gelsi is an artist and researcher working in performing and multimedia arts, exploring—through a eco-feminist approach—the political and affective relationships between physical and virtual spaces, as well as themes such as memory, liminality, and power.
She holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Ferrara (2017) and has worked as a front-end developer at BUNKER. In 2022, she enrolled in the Multimedia Art and Design program at RUFA.
She is a member of ASAP, a Bologna-based collective of artists focused on creating and curating performative projects and events, intertwining feminist art with nightlife culture.
Since 2023, she has been a co-founder of Blivet, a transmedial art collective investigating the intersections of art, matter, and technology through an ironic language and a strongly experimental approach. Blivet’s work has been exhibited at the Museo Nazionale Romano, Roma Europa Festival, AlbumArte, and Blooming Festival.

Micol Gelsi’s research explores the deconstruction of established systems and the creation of alternative communities through relational processes. With a hydrofeminist perspective, she investigates the fluid and interdependent relationships between physical and virtual spaces, from the study of interfaces. Her practice aims to generate spaces of encounter and imagination, used as tools to develop counter-narratives and alternative perceptual visions. Using an interdisciplinary and site-specific approach, her projects manifest as poetic-political devices, blending web-development, installation, and digital media.
