Hinrik Leonard Ingólfsson was born in Reykjavík in 2002. He moved to Rome at the age of eight, where he began his artistic training at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, and is currently in his third and final year.
His research stems from the experience of growing up between two very different cities, and from confronting the challenges of having left his country of origin as a child. The sense of displacement and the process of growing up between two cultural contexts become the ground from which both his artistic and personal identity develop. At the core of this investigation lies the theme of family, a profound and constant element throughout his work.
