Massimo Grimaldi: Texts – Postcard from…

Massimo Grimaldi (Taranto, 1974) is the third artist taking part to Postcard from … . Opening on Tuesday, September 13th, in Rome: this project aims at spreading and contextualizing  contemporary art within the urban environment. It is sponsored by the Pastificio Cerere Foundation and created by its Artistic Director Marcello Smarrelli. The event, entitled Texts, also includes an exhibition specially designed for the Pastificio Cerere Foundation, consisting of three texts show, one of the three was designed for this occasion and the whole work is finally displayed  for the first time in Italy.

 Postcard from… billboard comes from a work done in 2008, Finally, a text about our love and life abilities. Three texts will be also displayed in the Pastificio Cerere Foundation: they are made in translucent material, attached to the lower walls of the show space as graffiti. Vincent Van Gogh Text (2004), is a meditation about the artist condition and the art system arbitrariness, a reflection about the illusion that success raises from mediocrity, but also about the artist assumption of doing something special and the audience’s way to look at art; Columbo Text (2009) a Peter Falk tribute as a sentimental confession of  Columbo Tv series killer; Futurize (2011) is an unpublished site-specific work.
