pastificio_lab #6

04 May 2013
A project by Marcello Smarrelli curated by sguardo contemporaneo

• FOTOGRAFIE IN SCATOLA (PHOTO BOXES
sguardo contemporaneo curated the workshop Fotografie in scatola (Photo Boxes), the sixth Pastificio_lab appointment, a project aimed at reinforcing the Foundation’s link with the students of the San Lorenzo neighbourhood. The workshop, held by artist Francesco Capponi, involved the participants in the construction of a dippold pinhole camera, an artisanal tool in line with DIY philosophy. Guided through the neighbourhood streets, the workshop participants shot various images, familiarizing themselves with the functioning of the pinhole.

• PHOTO CIRCUS PoGoVic
Pastificio_lab#6 also included a photographic performance by the Photo Circus PoGoVic collective, held inside the Spazio Cerere: an open-door event in which members of the public were invited to pose for a portrait, which were subsequently modified on the spot by members of the collective and given to the visitors to keep. The Circus PoGoVic project in fact specializes in the manipulation of photographs that are printed with the Polaroid PoGo on thermoactive paper, then treated and “mistreated” by the artists with water, fire, acetone, sandpaper and other materials.
