THE PUPPET THEATRE – by 2A+P/A

The 2A+P/A studio transformed their parking space into a puppet theatre, presenting a use of public, temporary and collective space that is deeply related to the historical evolution of our culture. Akin to the Commedia dell’arte, the puppet theatre is based on the narration of tales linked to identity and to the values of a community of viewers who see these tales as an opportunity to discuss their shared past and traditions. 2A+P/A’s corner was transformed into a large urban object, characterized by pure and colourful forms: a small set that hosted a series of stories, a portion of the city’s scenography. The show, curated by Arianna D’Amato, staged three chapters from Collodi’s timeless tale, “The Adventures of Pinocchio.”

2A+P/A is an associated architecture studio based in Rome, co-founded by Gianfranco Bombaci and Matteo Costanzo. 2A+P/A specializes in architecture, urbanism and landscape design, developing projects for public buildings, private residences and urban spaces. The studio has won prizes and honourable mentions in various national and international competitions.

At the Spazio Cerere, there was also a workshop dedicated to theatre activities for children, curated by Violetta Rogai.
